How do our Online oogie art students stay engaged in online live classrooms?

Top 13 Most Frequently Asked Questions

1. Can my parents receive email notifications about my progress?

Yes, both you and your parents will receive email invites to the Portfolio Tracking System, where you can create usernames and passwords. Your parents will then receive email notifications for each update.

2. What if I don’t have any prior artworks to be revised?

We'll help you start and finish additional artworks if needed, depending on the package you select.

3. What happens to my tuition payments if I attend in person studio classes at Oogie Art's schools?

Your Online Art Portfolio Program tuition payments may be applied to your in-person studio class tuition balance.

4. How do I pay the tuition?

You have several convenient payment options at your disposal. You can pay via credit card or choose alternative methods such as Zelle, Venmo, or wire transfer for your tuition payments.

5. Do you photograph and digitally retouch finished artworks?

You will upload the final pictures yourself to the Portfolio Tracking System, and we will professionally complete your artworks in digital format for submission.

6. Why do we offer more artworks than colleges require?

We recommend producing more artworks for your portfolio to achieve optimal scholarship-winning results. By creating a broad range of pieces before applying to college, you aim to: 1) Expand your repertoire of techniques and styles, providing a rich vocabulary for artistic expression 2) Deepen your conceptual development, which includes familiarizing yourself with a wide array of Modern and Contemporary artists, and 3) Discover your specific artistic interests. This exploration helps in shaping a clear direction for developing a cohesive, thematic, and conceptual portfolio. Such a portfolio, demonstrating both intelligence and creativity, will distinctly convey your voice to admissions committees, setting you apart as a candidate.

7. Who selects and arranges the artworks for submission?

Our team will select your best works and curate your portfolio for each college application. Since some pieces may be more suited to certain schools, we assist in  tailoring different sets of artworks for various colleges to maximize your admission and scholarship potential.

8. Why does it take 2-artwork-per-month to create an artwork?

In our experience, 4-10 classes are the average amount of time it takes a student with a medium set of responsibilities to 1) secure necessary materials to begin a new project, 2) create idea sketches, and 3) follow instructions to revise the artwork to completion.

Some artworks will take longer than others depending on the complexity, size and medium of the assignment. In the event you’re able to complete assignments at a rate more quickly than the expected 2-artwork-per-month rate, you may purchase additional artwork assignments as add-ons at any time.

9. What if I have nothing to work on while waiting for a response after asking a question?

You’ll always be given ahead of time a second artwork assignment. This way, while you’re awaiting a response for artwork assignment #1. you can move forward and work on assignment #2. Each time you complete an assignment, we’ll send you another so that at any given time, you’ll have 2 ongoing artwork assignments.

10. What are the cut-off times for messaging questions and receiving feedback?

• You send your message before 6:00 PM EST, you’ll in most cases receive a response on the same day – this excludes Holidays and special days;

• You send your message after 6:00 PM EST, you’ll always receive a response on the same or next day – this excludes US Holidays and Oogie Art Breakdays.

For more information on expected message response times, see the Online Art Portfolio Packages page.

11. Why do we pay a registration fee of $300?

For a New student ONLY and one time ONLY: There will be a $300 registration fee. This includes Portfolio Arrangement, Photograph artworks, Artworks photoshopped.

12. What is video-messaged instruction?

We’ll send you video messages that detail instructions on how to proceed with your current assignment or what you have learned on the day. It’s the closest experience to actually being in class with us here at one of our schools.

13. Do you offer help with portfolio description, artist statements, and college applications?

We offer end-to-end admissions assistance with the entire art admissions process. Actually, no other pre-college art program in the world offers as comprehensive help with the art college application process as Oogie Art.

We will help you write effective artwork descriptions, create winning responses to supplemental questionnaires and craft compelling artist statements and essay responses. Since we taught you, we know how to help you with a portfolio description so that you don’t miss any ideas on the description.
