Oogie Art Course Offerings
(Level 1–4)
Our program offers Flexible Course Options, where instructors guide each student into the most suitable classes based on their current level and portfolio goals. Additional courses may be added during the semester based on the student’s progress and evolving needs.
Oogie Art’s curriculum is divided into Level 1 through Level 4 to provide a clear and structured learning path. Each level builds on the previous one, guiding students from foundational skills to advanced conceptual and portfolio work. This system helps students understand what they are working on, why it matters, and what steps come next in their art portfolio development. It also aligns with accreditation standards such as WASC, by defining measurable outcomes at each stage. Most importantly, it ensures that every student knows what they need to do to become fully portfolio-ready.
Level 1 – Foundation Studies: Basic Expression Skill Training
This level focuses on building fundamental drawing and observation skills. Students begin with line exercises, tonal values, and geometric forms such as cubes, cylinders, and spheres using basic materials like charcoal and pastel. The goal is to strengthen technical control and visual awareness through structured practice in foundational media and subjects.
