Oogie Art 艺术设计学院 上海分校
Oogie Art is offering the October Intensive Program (October 1- October 7, 10am-6pm) exclusively for our Shanghai campus. The program, taught by multiple teachers, including Oogie Art founder Ms. Choi, is open to students grades 10-12, gap year, and transfer students.
1) Learn from Oogie Art Founder Ms. Choi
Ms. Choi, Oogie Art's founder, is an accomplished artist, educator, art collector and dealer, and author of Art College Admissions books and Smart Sketchbook Series.
With more than 30 years of teaching experience and helping hundreds of students gain acceptance to top art colleges and Ivy League universities, Ms. Choi is possibly the single most experienced and successful art portfolio instructor in the world. Having the opportunity to learn from Ms. Choi (she will personally instruct each student during the October Intensive Program) and receive advice from her is well worth the price of admissions by itself!
2) Finish Your Portfolio for EA/ED (Seniors)
For seniors (grade 12/year 13) looking to apply Early Admission or Early Decision to American universities, the October Intensive Program is a perfect week to finish their portfolios, home tests, art writing, photograph and arrange their portfolios. You're now in the home stretch; let Oogie Art teachers help you avoid last minute pitfalls and finish strong!
3) Home Tests and School Specific Assignments (Seniors)
Many art schools, such as Rhode Island School of Design, Parsons, FIT, and ACCD have either home tests, specific assignments, or additional requirements for their portfolios. Oogie teachers will instruct you on navigating the specifics and give you the inside track on what these art schools are looking for!
4) Art Competition Prep
Winning art competitions is an excellent way of calling attention to your talent, and increase your chances of college acceptance and scholarships. At Oogie, we help students prepare and WIN prestigious art awards such as Scholastic Art & Writing Award, YoungArts, and other international art awards.
5) College Application Workshop
Included in the program are two short but valuable events: Art Writing Workshop and College Admissions Seminar. The seminar will provide valuable insight and tips on applying to colleges, and the writing workshop will teach you how to write artist statement and artwork descriptions, both essential complementary parts to your portfolio.
*BONUS: Figure Drawing Session
Most art and design courses require applicants to have a certain level of observational drawing skill. This is essential not just for Fine Art majors, but for many others, such as Animation, Architecture, and Fashion Design. Including figure drawings in your college application portfolio shows college that you are a serious art student with strong drawing skills.
Oogie Art will host a figure model drawing session during the October Intensive week. The session is open exclusively to Oogie Art students 16 years old and older.
