Paris Research Program
Students in this program will choose critical, independent research topics based on their specific academic interests such as architecture, art history, museum studies, environmental science, technology, Ai and art, and more. Rather than simply touring museums, students will conduct on-site research, critically analyzing each location, artwork, or artist and exploring their relevance and impact in today’s world.
Through this program, students will not simply visit locations. They will develop independent, in-depth research based on their field of interest, shaped by what they see, feel, and question in person.
Each student will write a research paper under the mentorship of Richard Vine, former Senior Editor of Art in America, and their final work will be published under the name Oogie Art Press with your artwork. This publication will serve as a powerful academic and unique creative credential in college and graduate school applications.
Program Structure:
Before departure: Students will attend planning meetings to select their research topic and submit a preliminary draft or proposal.
In Paris (morning sessions): Museum visits, site explorations, and individual presentations on their topics.
In Paris (afternoon sessions): Creative studio time with Ms. Choi, where students will develop artworks inspired by their research.
During the trip: Students will meet 1-on-1 with Richard Vine to refine their research direction and deepen their analysis.
